There was pin the nose on the Jack-O-Lantern....

And A family pumpkin carving contest....

Topped off by an Awards Ceremony.... Where Jack won the best costume!!! Way to go JACK. I have to admit he is the cutest "JACK"-O-LANTERN I have ever seen!

It all went great.... The tradition will carry on. Plan on it next year and the years to come.

What did I do all day???

I have to put a huge disclaimer on this post because Shawn is super appreciative of what I do at home and he always lets me know it too. But this past Saturday he stayed home while I went out for a few minutes and in that time he had the refrigerator all cleaned out and it was sparkling! I felt so bad when I got home... I felt like it was my job and that I was slaking :( I always do this to myself!!!! During the day I feel like I have to be going nonstop... or I'm lazy. But this cute story reminded me of all that I do during the day. I just thought it would make all of you moms out there feel appreciated!

A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard. The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog.

Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall. In the front room the TV was loudly blaring on a cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing.

In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door. He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife.

He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened. He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls.

As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went. He looked at her bewildered and asked, 'What happened here today?' She again smiled and answered, 'You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world I do all day?'

'Yes," was his incredulous reply.

She answered, 'Well, today I didn't do it".

Family Night At Staheli's Farm

I love the cool crisp air and the fun fall time activities. We had a fun family night with the whole Lambert Clan minus Krista, Beau and the Kids ( we miss you guys). Jack loved every second of it. He is completely boy through and through. He loved playin' in the dirt, running around outside and seeing all of the animals. I wish I would have had the video camera with us. I feel like photos can't capture the moments of excitement that Jack expresses for nearly everthing. He would just squeal when he saw the different animals. He is so fun to raise. He keeps us on our toes and makes life fun.

Just for the record.....

I just got home from church and for the one second that I got to listen to fast and testimony meeting, (Jack is always a handful at church) this lady got up and was saying that she had been thinking about if she passed from this life, what she would want her children to have learned from her. It got me thinking about what advice I would want to pass on to Jack... not that I am going anywhere. I am sure I will be one of those 105 year old people, living in a rest home wishing I could go, but just for the record here we go....

I would want him to first off know that life goes quick, so enjoy everything. Don't forget to go on walks and feel the wind on your face, don't forget to go out at night and look at the stars, and don't forget to enjoy lazy days....

I would also want you to know that life goes on.... Play in mud even if you get all dirty and ruin your clothes, who cares. Splash in puddles after it rains and don't worry if you come home with holes in your jeans, it lets me know that you were having fun!

Take time to realize what a beautiful world we live in...

Don't waste time on TV and Nintendo, get outside and be a boy, explore and discover.

Don't turn down opportunities, just go for it. Try new things and be adventurous. (your Dad is still trying to teach me that)

Explore new talents and pursue them. Don't EVER give up on yourself, believe and trust in yourself.

Don't let failure slow you down. (way to many times in my life I have done this!)

Don't let others tell you it's not "cool", become yourself!

Remember that your family will always be your number one fan and friend.

Don't worry about what we might think, you can always come to your Mom and Dad for anything, and I mean anything!

Don't forget to turn to your Father in Heaven for answers, I know he listens.

Enjoy all of the holidays, don't get too old for them!

I am sure I could go on forever and ever, but most of all Jack live a life you would be proud of. Don't regret stuff. Live so that when you look back on this life you can say that was a sweet life and I wouldn't change it one bit!!!!

SPAIN!!

As Hayley said I got the chance to go to Spain for 10 days, and she being the wonderful wife that she is, made sure that I took advantage of the opportunity. But she did make sure that she got a few things in return, i.e., the new camera. But I got the better end of the deal. It was pretty amazing. Don't worry though I am not going to give you my travel itinerary, just a few pics and some highlights. This is my little brother Chad, he has been in Spain for the last two years on a mission, that is why we went over there, if you were wondering.
Madrid TempleThe cross in the back is over 400 feet tall and the interior of this church is carved right out of the mountain, and it is huge!
My Mom and Dad also went, so it was the four of us.This is a 2000 year old Aqueduct, the Romans built to get their version of running water. This was probably my favorite thing I saw the whole trip. The little thing you see behind us is a statue of Christ about 3 miles away, I don't know how big it was, but you can imagine it had to be pretty tall.I am by no means a photographer, and Hayley wouldn't let me take her new camera, so I did the best with what I had. Out of 478 pictures, these are a few that turned out kind of sweet, and give an idea of the culture, architecture, and style of Spain.

Thanks Guys!!!

I haven't posted about Shawn being gone to SPAIN, for the past 10 day, because I was scared that someone would come and get Jack and Me. But now that he is going to be home in LESS than 24 hours I figured I'm safe. But I wanted to dedicate this post to my wonderful family and friends that have been there for the two of us over these past 10 days. Jack and I have had so much fun. There wasn't a day that went by that someone didn't invite us to hang out. We had a blast on all of the park dates, (one day we went to the park 3 times in one day with 3 different friends, Wow), dinners, family nights, craft nights (I will have to post some pictures of the crafts we made they are super cute) and just hanging out. I swear when ever I got around a friend I would chat their ear off. It was nice to have a conversation with someone that under stood more than four letter words. I really appreciate all of the phone call (thanks Carly for checking in on me almost everyday!), e-mails and invites. My Mom and Dad were so great to have us hang out at there house when ever we were board, or watch Jack while I need some time to myself. They are such great parents, I love them so much and feel so lucky to have them close.

When Shawn first got the plane ticket we kept saying it is only 10 days!!! But ten days is a long time to be a single Mom. All of you single Moms out there I really admire you. Jack and I have really bonded though, we have been nearly inseparable since Shawn left. Jack has been slightly worried that I might leave too, so he has had a hard time letting me out of his sight. We have been lucky to talk to Shawn on the web cam a little bit, but I think that has confused Jack even more. One time we were talking to Shawn and Jack kept looking behind the computer screen to see were his Dad was. Jack makes sure that he says Dad every time he sees a picture of him and when I talk about Dad coming home he points to the sky and says " clane" because I keep telling him that he will come home on a plane. I can't wait to see his face light up when he sees him. I also keep telling him that when we see Dad we are going to tell him that he can't ever go for this long ever again, and that goes for the both of us!!!

Well I will update again on his arrival and tell you all how the missionary bother is doing, but for all of you that have been there for the two of us THANK YOU. I couldn't ask for better family and friends. I hope if you guys are ever lonely that I will be there for you, please know that I love and appreciate you guys! And Jack and I are still up for all of the play dates and craft times, but if you invite us over for dinner Shawn might have to tag along with us also! Thanks again guys, I owe ya one!
