So Shawn and I were chatting and we want to go on a little VACATION. We don't want to fly anywhere and gas is high priced so it can't be too far. We just need a small get away. Any ideas??? Just thought we would see if you guys out there had any hidden adventures for us. Remember we have little Jack and I still don't go anywhere with out him, Of course :)

You could always go camping! Pine Valley has beautiful camp grounds right by the lake. And the drive is only like 35 minutes! You cant beat that!

Well- It depends on how much you want to spend, and what you want to do. Zion National Park (My backyard...) has lots of things around that you can do for a mini vacation. There's a camping ground IN Zion, and a little Hike that you could go on with Jack. There's also the big theater you could go to in the evening and see a movie, or walk around Springdale- there's a fun atmosphere at night. There's also a fun little place I've wanted to go to for quite a while just on the other side of Zion (after you get through the tunnel and out of the park). It's called Zion Ponderosa. My friends own it. They have little cabins that you can rent, and they have a pool, horseback riding, ATV rides, hiking, dutch oven dinners and campfires, programs. Anyway- kind of a fun atmosphere there too.

Hmmm.. You could try Sedona ( about 5-6 hours away).. It's Arizona's Zion. There are tons of great places to eat, shop (touristy), and there is Slide Rock ( water slides formed out of the red rock).. Way fun!

Also, Jackson Hole is another favorite ( Longer drive though) My brother runs a river guide company, and could probably give you a sweet discount!

Sand Hollow is pretty this time of year.

You should totally go up to Midway and stay at the homestead. Its really cool even though I haven't been there ....yet-We're going tomorrow!

They have natural hot pots that you can swim in and it's way pretty and way close to park city shopping.

Hay,

My advice would be to leave JAck for just maybe two days with Mom and Dad. He's not nursing anymore and he's really comfortable around them. I think he would do just fine. You and Shawn haven't been able to have it be just the two of you for a long time and some alone time is priceless. Even when JT and I just went to Vegas overnight it was so nice. We did that when Boston was 15 months, so about the same age as Jack and Mom said he just became her little buddy. Ofcourse we couldn't wait to see him, but it was really really good for us. I don't think it matters where you go, but the quality of the time you spend. Again, I know you love Jack just like I love Boston, but sometimes you need to just reconnect with your spouse.

We went to Zion Ponderosa this summer and it was pretty fun. They have a really nice pool, however I liked the cabins at Zion Mountain Resort better :)
