My Old Man

(What a classic picture of My Dad)

Being that it was Fathers Day this past weekend, it got me thinking how lucky I am to have a DAD! He's not the,"run of the mill" Dad either, he is one of those GREAT Dads. He would be there at a moments notice to give a helping hand, even if it was way inconvenient.  He makes you feel like you are the best no matter if you're not.  He is a wonderful teacher, very patient. Kids, especially his grand kids, are just drawn to him. He love us kids no matter what.  He has always been a great example of hard work. He has always respected My Mom and been a great example of what a husband should be.

More times than I can count I have had people tell me, "You have such a cool Dad, he is a great man." I have, and  always will feel LUCKY to call him MY DAD.

FOOD

I'm not really a summer girl, don't get me wrong there are lots of things I like about summer but I just carve Fall, it is my favorite. But since I'm not Mother Nature why not enjoy the summer fun. My favorite part of summer is fresh produce. I love it! We purchased a Bountiful Basket last week and this week, for that matter. So every meal has been pumped with fruits and veggies. Shawn and Jack might be sick of it but I can't get enough.

Just Call Him A Seahorse

Jack just completed level one (SEAHORSE) swimming lessons. Which means Jack can

1. Enter and exit the water alone
2. Blow Bubbles
3. Keep his face in the water for 3 sec.
4. Front float with support
5. Front kicking with support
6. Bounce ten times on bottom stair
7. Alternating Arms Action
8. Back float with support
9. Back kicking
10. Jump from the side

Lets just say Jack made quit the improvident from day one, screaming so hard that he nearly puked in the pool, to the final day, being absolutely crazy, daring, and annoying in the pool. That is Jack for ya. Way to go man!

On a side note... I love that Kash and Jack do everything together( gymnastics, swimming, play group, nearly everyday we spend it with Kash). These pictures are classic. I hope some day they get married, they would have quit the wedding movie of photos. I couldn't ask for a cuter friend for Jack, we love you Kash good job on swimming lessons too!

A Perfect Day

Monday was one of those perfect days.... Started the day off with a good morning run. Being that it was a Holiday Shawn got (most) of the day off. We went for a fun hike with the whole fam. including Scout. Jack and Scout had fun looking for lizards and I screamed every time I saw a hole. I'm not afraid of lizard but I hate snakes!!! We were starving so we went to the wagon wheel for breakfast. Nothing like some country cookin!  We were on a Dixie Direct kick so we used our two free passes to the Rosenbruch Wildlife Museum. If you haven't been there you should, it is unbelievable, and a bit creepy.  There are so many animal, it's crazy.  I would not recommend it to my Brother the vegetarian, animal rights activist, but the rest of you it's pretty sweet.  The fun didn't stop there, even though Shawn and Jack both begged to lay down on the couch and relax. We pack up a lunch and went to meet my High School friend, Jessica and her family. We got to play at Jessica's Grandma fun house. They have a life size doll house, with all of the fixings, even air conditioning. Jack fell in love with it. He thought it was great that he could reach the faucet and get his own drink and turn his own movie on. Someday when we are rich that will be on the top of the list, a play house you could really live in!!! I finally gave in and we headed home for a nap! Poor Shawn went to work instead, what a hard worker. We ended the night with a delicious BBQ at my parents house. Jack got to play water toys in the back yard and had a ball. I love fun days like this!

Memorial Day

My Dad shared this great clip with us last night at our Memorial Day BBQ. Thanks Dad for reminding me of what I have been blessed with because of other Men and Women sacrifices.

I never got to know my Grandma Cash's Brother, Robyn Willey. He was killed in the Vietnam War when he was 20ish. But I have heard many stories about him, how he was brave and fought for our freedom. I am grateful for his willingness to give His life so that I can be free, so I don't have to live in fear. I am proud to be an American. I am sure I don't understand the sacrifices these Men and Women and their families make and have made, but I hope I never forget what they have done and still are doing to keep us free. THANK YOU
